Evangelical Christianity in America Today, is a Generation of People Whom GOD Does Not Know

Filed under: Writing — William D. Simpson @ 7:58 AM

Another Sunday has passed as the search for a biblical church continues. It has now been seven months since my wife and I moved to central Kentucky. We have been to a number of different churches, and each and everyone has proven to be a disappointment.
Jokes, stories, drama, and the building of the congregants self-esteem with the ideas that GOD wants His children healthy, wealthy and wise, and possessing the innate power to create an individual utopic lifestyle by the words we speak, is the focus, instead of the preacher proclaiming the sovereignty of GOD, the depravity of man, and the need of the work of salvation in a person’s life that only GODs holy Spirit can accomplish.
Evangelical Christianity in America today, is a generation of people whom GOD does not know. Humanism being the predominate influence in most churches today, and, as a result, rampant sin has led the way to the moral breakdown of our societies. This is irrefutable evidence of GODs judgment upon a rebellious people.

What is missing, is, The Gospel of Jesus Christ

The Holiness of God
Your eyes are too pure to approve evil, and You cannot look on wickedness with favor. Habakuk 1:13
But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear. Isaiah 59:2

The Justice of God
For the LORD is righteous, He loves righteousness; the upright will behold His face. Psalm 11:7
But the LORD of hosts will be exalted in judgment, and the holy God will show Himself holy in righteousness. Isaiah 5:16
God is a righteous judge, and a God who has indignation every day. If a man does not repent, He will sharpen His sword; He has bent His bow and made it ready. Psalm 7:11-12

The Depravity & Condemnation of Man

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23
For all of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a filthy garment Isaiah 64:6
For as many as are of the works of the law are under a curse; for it is written, ACCURSED IS EVERYONE WHO DOES NOT ABIDE BY ALL THINGS WRITTEN IN THE BOOK OF THE LAW, TO PERFORM THEM. Galatians 3:10

The Great Dilemma
He who justifies the wicked and he who condemns the righteous, both of them alike are an abomination to the LORD. Proverbs 17:15
Far be it from You to do such a thing, to slay the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous and the wicked are treated alike. Far be it from You! Shall not the Judge of all the earth deal justly? Genesis 18:25

God’s Action
While maintaining His holiness and justice, the Bible also affirms that God is love, and that in love He has responded to the plight of man.

Motivated by Love

God is love. By this the love of God is manifested in us, that God sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 1 John 4:8-10

The Cross of Christ

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus; whom God displayed publicly as a propitiation in His blood through faith. This was to demonstrate His righteousness, because in the forbearance of God He passed over the sins previously committed; for the demonstration, I say, of His righteousness at the present time, so that He would be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus. Romans 3:23-26

The Resurrection

He who was delivered over because of our transgressions, and was raised because of our justification. Romans 4:25

Man’s Response

Repentance begins with recognition and confession that what God says about us is true that we have sinned.
For I know my transgressions, and my sin is ever before me. Against You, You only, I have sinned and done what is evil in Your sight, so that You are justified when You speak and blameless when You judge. Psalm 51:3-4

A genuine recognition of our sinfulness and guilt will also lead to genuine sorrow, shame and even hatred for what we have done.
For what I am doing, I do not understand; for I am not practicing what I would like to do, but I am doing the very thing I hate. Romans 7:15
Wretched man that I am! Who will set me free from this body of death? Romans 7:24

Apparent sincerity of confession alone is never definite evidence of genuine repentance. It must be accompanied by a turning away from sin.

Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; remove the evil of your deeds from My sight. Cease to do evil. Isaiah 1:16
Therefore every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Matthew 3:10

Faith Defined

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1
And being fully assured that what God had promised, He was able also to perform. Romans 4:21

Faith Based on The Promises of God

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16
Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved Acts 16:31

Example of a Believer

Worship in the Spirit of God and glory in Christ Jesus and put no confidence in the flesh Philippians 3:3

The Basis of Genuine Assurance

True conversion: A true Christian is a new creation and will live a life that reflects God’s radical work of re-creation in his/her life.

Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. 2 Corinthians 5:17
You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they? Matthew 7:16

Assurance is based upon self-examination in the light of Scripture. Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves!

Or do you not recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you unless indeed you fail the test? 2 Corinthians 13:5
These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life. 1 John 5:13

Test of Biblical Assurance

1 John 1:5-7 (Walking in the Light)
1 John 1:8-10 (Confession of Sin)
1 John 2:3-4 (Obedience)
1 John 2:9-11 (Love for the Brethren)
1 John 2:15-17 (Hatred for the World)
1 John 2:24-25 (Perseverance in Doctrine)
1 John 3:10 (Righteousness)
1 John 4:13 (Spirit’s Testimony)
Hebrews 12:5-8 (Discipline)

This is the truest definition of biblical salvation that I have read. It can be found on Paul Washer’s website. http://heartcrymissionary.com

Many Church Pastors Are Gospel Ignorant

Filed under: Writing — William D. Simpson @ 2:34 PM

My name is William Simpson. Husband to Shannon. Author of the book: “Living In The Hope Of My Imagination”. My book is a novel that narrates the moral decline of American culture. I address what the federal government has done through judicial activism, special interests and education, over my life time, to bring us to where we are now currently facing fascism and socialism, being the fundamental transformation the Obama administration has in mind for the American people, all because of what many Christian pastors have not done, which has allowed all of this to happen.

I have recently been asked by several people to teach a small-group Bible study. Which is something that I am respectfully fearful of doing, because of the accountability this will bring upon me before my GOD, and those of whom GOD will have me to teach.

I am, like many people I know, frustrated with what presents itself as evangelical Christianity today. Weak, compromised and outright unbiblical teachings have, for many decades now, done great harm to the true Christian witness, not only in America, but the world over.

My question to the Somerset community: Are you hungry for GOD, and for the truth of His Gospel? I know that you are not being fed the meat of GODs Word. “When the Gospel that is preached, ceases to offend the hearer, it has ceased to be the Gospel of Jesus Christ.” Calloused minds and hardness of heart is evidence of weak preaching.

My wife and I are new to Somerset, KY. There are many churches in the area, several of which, I have sat through the Sunday morning/evening and Wednesday evening services, and left wanting, and regretting the fact that I had wasted my time. Sermons, that were taught by men and women, who, though they may have attended “Cemetery Training School”, or are self-appointed to the positions they have, are void of the knowledge of the only truth that has within itself the power to transform a life.

These people do not teach a biblical exposition of sola Scriptura, with the intent of the revealed Word being communicated exactly as GOD gave it. Which is to be preached by men ordained by GOD, precisely as it was delivered to the prophets of old, taught by Jesus, and the New Testament Apostles, without the message being altered.
Instead, what we hear is humanism, cloaked within the shroud of Baptist, Lutheran, Presbyterian, Catholic, Independent and Word of Faith doctrines, and even a smattering of Jehovah Witnesses and Mormons, offering their misguided opinions to the already confused community of churched congregants.

Enough! I can only imagine just how frustrated GOD is with humanity, and of the flaunting of their sin in the face of GOD, with no regard to the consequence of their sin. But even more, the anger that God must feel towards those who stand in the pulpits of our community’s churches, and talk of nothing more than cute stories to tickle emotions, health, wealth and self-esteem, and never dare offend their congregations, for fear of loosing the tithes and offerings these people give.
People are living and dying, without having been told about the true message of the Gospel. And as to the cost these people must now pay, because they have died in sin and are eternally separated from GOD, GOD weps…

I want what every person who is truly born-again longs for. An understanding of who GOD really is, and what I must do to live my life in a way that brings glory to GOD, and being used by GOD to lead people to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
If this is what you desire, please let me know. This community has great need for a local body of believers to show to them the true Christian witness. A ministry that teaches uncompromised biblical truth, and people who are willing to reach out to the community with no thought given to self-sacrifice.

“I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.” 2 Timothy 4:1-4

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another.
By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”
John 13:34-35

The Christians call is a journey into the unknown, that guarantees brokenness, and in the end, the eternal joy of discovering the awesome depths of the greatness of creations GOD, with those whom your life’s witness has touched… Follow me, as I follow Christ.
