The hope we have is the knowledge of what God did through the atoning sacrifice of the person of Jesus Christ. Jesus, God in human form. Whose life, death and resurrection, was witnessed by those who were privileged to have been granted the understanding to know that He was the Christ. Who also recorded the historical writings we know as the Gospels in the New Testament Bible, which detail the public ministry and the acts of a man who did things that only God could do. God came to dwell among His creation, and the majority of those people did not recognize Him. Then in fulfillment of the promise which the ancient Scriptures foretold, the only person to have ever lived a perfect sinless life paid the ultimate price so that you and I would not have to.
Beaten and stripped naked, bleeding and humiliated, Jesus was crucified on Calvary’s cross to suffer the punishment of separation from the presence of God. There God’s wrath was poured out upon Jesus. He became sin, sickness and dis-ease and all of the depravity within each of us. By taking in His body the penalty we are deserving of, Jesus became the atonement for your and my sin. Jesus willingly sacrificed His deity to redeem a lost humanity, to once again enjoy unbroken fellowship with those whom He calls to give their lives for Him. And when the purpose of His death was fulfilled, Jesus raised Himself from the dead to be a living witness to the testament of His deity.
By this, Jesus proved to be the only true and living God! There is no other name or false religion known to mankind that can save, transform and make us righteous before God other than Jesus Christ.
There are grave consequences if you do not take the time to understand what it really means to be Christian. For if you live your life in a way that you enjoy the temporary pleasures of this world then one day as your body lays down in death with no atonement for your sins, there will be a reality you do not want to face!
Seek Christ now to be found by Him, and this priveledged hope will also be granted to you…
And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I command you; and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the age.
